Meredith Turits lives and writes in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.
She is a magna cum laude graduate of Tufts University, where she studied Philosophy of Language and Linguistics. She earned a minor in Communications and Media Studies through Tufts and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Meredith is the senior strategist, brand development for The Foundry at Time Inc and the editorial director of Extra Crispy. She also serves as fiction editor for the The Brooklyn Quarterly.
Previously, Meredith worked as the senior culture editor at Bustle.com, where she directed the site's Books vertical and worked on brand development. She is one of the site's four founding editors, who shaped its editorial mission, voice, and vision.
Prior to Bustle, Meredith served as the online associate editor at Glamour magazine, where she oversaw lifestyle content, and the News & Politics vertical. She spearheaded its launch in early 2012, and was lead writer and top editor of its anchor blog, The Conversation, which introduced content including politics, authors, current events, career, and influential women to the site's daily editorial lineup.
Her writing has also appeared in publications including Vanity Fair, ELLE, the New Republic, The Paris Review Daily, The Millions, Electric Literature, The Rumpus, Full Stop, Glamour, and more.
